Tighter, faster and more intense

"Ticket to Ride" is a game I never get enough of. It's just one of these games that proves you don't need complex rules to make a great game.

But for 3 players, it just feels too spacious, like there's no need to fight over anything. Some people like that type of play, keeping focused on their own goals, and avoiding all conflicts. If you're like me, and you're looking for more of that intense blocking battle here's a simple fix that works magic.

3 Players Variant:

No double tracks. That's it.

Once one of the 3 players connects 2 cities, no other player can play the other track. For example once a player plays the green or white track from New York to Pittsburgh no player can play the other track. This takes a way a lot of that "extra space".

4 Player Variant:

Grey "non-colored" paths can't be doubled.

So for 4 players, you could have 2 players connect New York and Pittsburgh, but you can't have 2 players connect Dallas and Huston.

BTW - check out this post show how taking out one rule can make Ticket to Ride a whole lot better

Try it out,

There's no going back!
