Can this ride get even better?

Why would a block buster such as "Ticket to Ride" ever need new rules, versions or variations? Well, in fact it doesn't. But taking out some rules makes it a whole lot better.

Did you ever notice that it's almost always the best strategy to stack up all your cards till you can play them all, in groups of 5 or 6? The payoffs are huge, the risks are small. All in all this comes at the expense of the wonderful connect & block mechanics.

Rewriting Rules - sometimes simpler is better:

You collect no points for placing trains. Only for completed tracks.

Simple, isn't it?

This actually means there's also no need to count points during the game,

so you can concentrate on the fun parts, and skip the book-keeping.
